What's this about?
It's an event for women. Meet 20 groups that are involved in activities on land, rock, water, and snow. The groups are non-profits, instructional groups, Meetup groups, and two local ski resorts. There's a speaker panel and learning sessions for the different outdoor categories. Food & beverages, Speaker panel, Breakout sessions, and a Raffle.
Why is Powder Poobah the sponsor?
My name is Andrea Hamilton. I send these emails, give away prizes, oversee sponsor relations, manage social media, and the website.
In 2016, I crossed paths with Larry when I joined Sturtevant's as marketing coordinator. Fast forward to today, when Larry wanted to retire, we decided to collaborate on Powder Poobah. Now Larry skis more instead of writing all 60+ Powder Alerts. Michael Fagin, our Operational Meteorologist, does the heavy lifting.
Women's Outdoor Connection was hatched with the encouragement of friends and family, during many chairlift chats. The first Women's Outdoor Connection event was in October 2023. It was a success. Attendees and groups wanted a replay which is on May 19th!
The group lineup includes the Lake Union Crew, Montlake Rowing Club, Women On the Water (sailing program) from Center for Wooden Boats, and Crank Sisters from Evergreen Mtn Bike Alliance. Stevens Pass and Crystal Mountain are coming. The Summit was already booked on the 19th.
