Hello Powder Alert Fans,

  • Monday: Mostly sunny ☼
  • Tuesday: Mostly sunny ☼ clouds later
  • Wednesday: Increase in clouds and trace, if any, snow
  • Thursday: Mostly cloudy and trace, if any, snow

Hello skiers and snowboarders,

The weather theme in the short term will continue the pattern of a strong upper-level ridge of high pressure (red on the map) anchored over the West Coast. This will bring us continued mild and sunny conditions through Monday and most of Tuesday.

Late Tuesday, the upper-level ridge of high pressure will slowly move out of the area. The net result will be cooler air moving into the area. However, moisture is limited for Wednesday to Thursday and chances of snowfall are limited to a trace, if any, for the mid to upper slopes.

Please look at our extended outlook.

Extended Outlook

Saturday, March 23, a deep trough of low pressure will move in off our coast (green on the map) bringing colder air into our region and chances of snow at 4000'. The graph of Stampede Pass (4000' and east of Snoqualmie Pass) indicates inches 5" of new snowfall during next weekend. Interesting that some other forecast models indicate much higher totals.

We will clarify this when we issue our next forecast on Wednesday, March 20. Let us see if we can add to our snowpack.
