Wait, there is more good news. Snow levels are low today and into early Friday and the map above reflects the additional snowfall we will get between Thursday at 6 am to Friday 2 am. So there were be nice powder awaiting you.

During the day Friday there will be sun breaks at times, so a great day to be out. Although the ridge tops exposed to the east will have some gusty winds 20 to 30 mph at times.

Over the weekend the best chances of light snow will be for Crystal Mountain and south as well as White Pass and south.

Presidents' Day- Monday, February 19

The best chance of snow will be later in the day and into Tuesday. So, any new snow to enjoy will be late in the day Monday and more likely Tuesday. Forecast models have been inconsistent on snow totals so I suggest you wait for our next update on Sunday, February 18.

Extended

For the period Tuesday, February 20 through Saturday, February 24 the map reflects the mild conditions that we will have. Also during this period we will have a ridge of high pressure in place. So if we get any precipitation it will be light and with higher snow levels of close to 6000 feet. This is certainly a signature of El Niño.

Thank you,

Meteorologist, Michael Fagin.

The Grand Poobah of Powder is out there on snow. Maybe you'll see him.
