Hello Powder Alert Fans,

  • Monday: Light snow mainly for late in the day/evening
  • Tuesday: Light snow at 3000 to 4000'
  • Wednesday: Mostly sunny for the afternoon
  • Thursday: Continued mostly sunny

Short Term Discussion

Hello skiers and snowboarders,

Monday, an area of low pressure and associated cold front will move into the Cascades. The best chance of snow will be for late Monday and into early Tuesday. Snow totals for the West Cascades will be in the 1 to 3" range with some snow at 3000' and up to 3" at 4000'.

The map below shows the total snowfall through Tuesday afternoon. The best chances are for Mt Baker, Steven Pass, and Snoqualmie Pass. Although I think Crystal will also get some light snow. The East Cascades and Inland areas will have little, if any, snowfall.

Starting on Wednesday and continuing through at least Thursday a weak ridge of high pressure forms to bring mostly sunny conditions.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK

Extended Outlook

The map below shows an upper level ridge of high pressure over our region on Friday. This will bring mostly sunny conditions. Most forecast models suggest that this ridge might weaken some over the weekend of April 20 and April 21. Although if it does weaken, I still think we should continue with the dry conditions.
