Short Term Discussion:
Hello skiers and snowboarders,
Today through Tuesday, a series of weather systems will move into the Cascades and bring some late winter snow. It will be windy at times with winds up to 20 mph. During the day on Monday, we are expecting up to 4 inches at 3500' (see first map below) for the West Cascades ski areas. That includes Mt. Baker (probably more than 4"), Stevens Pass, Snoqualmie Pass, and Crystal (probably more than 4"). However on Monday, we might have a brief rain/snow mix at 3000' at Snoqualmie Pass.
Then starting late Monday and continuing into Tuesday (second map) many areas in the West Cascades will be getting at least 8 to 12" at 3000'. I would not be surprised if we get higher totals. Wednesday we will get additional light snow of two inches. Then starting Thursday we are expecting a warm and sunny pattern developing.
Check out the extended outlook below.
