Last snow of the season? Not quite.

Hello skiers and snowboarders,

Still reading the Powder Alert? We love you for that. ❄️ A little snow is coming Friday and Saturday (yes, even at lower slopes), and sunshine follows for classic spring groomers. Some local spots close this weekend with parties at Alpental and Stevens Pass, but others keep spinning.

Friday and Saturday we have a return to winter conditions. Expect a cool and moist air mass in place, bringing some snow for the mid-slopes on Friday and Saturday. We will even get some snow for the lower slopes. The snow totals listed below are for Mt. Baker, Stevens Pass, Snoqualmie Pass, and Crystal Mountain for the mid-slopes. The inland areas like 49 Degrees North and Silver Mt. will also get an inch of snow on Friday and another inch on Saturday.

On Sunday and Monday, a ridge of high pressure builds for warming temperatures and mostly sunny conditions, for some great spring runs.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Friday - 1 to 2" mid-slopes

  • Saturday - 1 to 3" mid slopes

  • Sunday - Some sunbreaks

  • Monday - Some sunbreak

SLOPES - Elevation General Guidelines

  • Lower Slopes - Under 4000'

  • Mid-Slopes - 4000 to 5500'

  • Upper-Slopes - Above 5500'

EXTENDED OUTLOOK: Tuesday, April 15 to Friday, April 18

A ridge of high pressure will be in place for Tuesday and Wednesday, so we expect mild and dry conditions, which are indicated in the graph below. These conditions are for Stampede Pass at 4000' and just SE of Snoqualmie Pass. We are expecting these same conditions for most of the resorts in Washington State.

Cooler air moves in on Thursday and Friday. Models are uncertain in terms of snow for these days. Some models indicate light snowfall for these days, while others indicate no new snowfall. I think we will get 1 to 2 inches on Thursday for the mid-slopes. We will have this clarified in our next update, this Sunday.

The graph below shows conditions at Stampede Pass at 4000' and indicates mild conditions for Tuesday and Wednesday, then cooler on Thursday and Friday.
