Hello skiers and snowboarders,
We continue with warm conditions so rain for the lower and mid slopes early on Monday. Then snow levels will lower later on Monday and into Tuesday. The good news is that forecast models show 7 to 10" of snow for the mid-slopes. Also, we are expecting very windy conditions for late Monday and into Tuesday. So visibility will be an issue. See the map below which shows snow totals for the 24 hours ending Tuesday afternoon. 7 to 10" mid-slopes and upper slopes more.
Wednesday should be a great day to enjoy the new snow as a ridge of high pressure builds for mild conditions and some sun breaks. This pattern should continue into Thursday as well. However, there is a chance of light snow showers near Mt. Baker.
Given the rain and high snow levels over this weekend and into Monday, make sure to check out the updates provided by the Northwest Avalanche Center. High avalanche conditions have been in the forecast for many areas. For these reasons, many skiers and snowboarders stay inbounds at the ski resorts.
HIGHLIGHTS
Monday - Rain with snow for mid and upper slopes later
Tuesday - 7 to 10" mid slopes, more for upper slopes higher totals
Wednesday - Sun breaks
Thursday - Sun breaks, except near Mt. Baker - light snow showers

Extended Outlook: Feb 28 to March 2
We are expecting mild conditions for Friday and Saturday and then some cooling for Sunday. This is reflected in the map below and these are the conditions that we can expect for many of our ski areas in Washington. A few models indicate chances of light snow later Saturday and into Sunday. But models are inconsistent with the snow forecast so please check back with us this coming Thursday.
