Short Term Discussion

Hello skiers and snowboarders,

Friday we are expecting a weak ridge of high pressure and can expect dry conditions and some early sun breaks. Mt Baker area will have chances of light snow late in the day.

During the weekend several weather systems will move and bring up to 8 inches of cumulative snowfall for Stevens Pass and Snoqualmie Pass (see map below the circled areas.) Mt Baker and Crystal totals will be slightly higher. The second map shows that the inland areas 49 Degrees North and Silver Mountain will also get some new snowfall.

Monday, we are expecting an additional 6 inches for many of the West Cascades ski areas, Mt Baker, Stevens Pass, Snoqualmie Pass, and Crystal.

Check out the extended outlook below.

Extended Outlook

From this Friday to Sunday, we are expecting an active storm track with weather systems aimed into our region. The map below for Sunday, March 10 shows a trough of low pressure off our coast. With this type of pattern, we can expect cool conditions and chances of snow. Too early to get a handle on how much snow but certainly a good reason to be optimistic regarding next weekend.

The extended outlook shows cool conditions.

Watch for the next update on Thursday.
