Hello skiers and snowboarders,
Thursday night and into early Friday we will have 2 to 3 inches of new snowfall at 4000 feet. During the day on Friday, there will be 1 to 3 inches of new snowfall for the mid to upper slopes. The best chance of snow for Friday will be for the Mt. Baker area.
For Saturday we are expecting snow mainly for the afternoon and evening with up to 6 inches for the mid and upper slopes for the Western Washington Ski Resorts: Baker, Stevens Pass, Snoqualmie Pass, and Crystal. The good news is that the Inland resorts 49 Degrees and Silver Mountain will also get new snowfall late in the day on Saturday.
During the day on Sunday and into Monday a stronger system will move in and many areas for the Western Washington Ski Resorts will have close to 10 to 12 inches of new snowfall at the 4,000 foot level. The map below reflects this. There will be less snowfall at 3000 feet.
Friday - 1 to 3 inches of snow for the mid to upper slopes; higher totals for Baker
Saturday - 4 to 6 inches of snow for mid slopes; less at 3,000'
Sunday/Monday - 10 to 12 inches+ for mid to upper slopes
EXTENDED OUTLOOK
The chart below reflects the weather conditions at Stampede Pass. The good news is that by Thursday, December 26 we are expecting up to 24 inches of cumulative snowfall. Much of this new snowfall will occur Monday, December 23 through Wednesday, December 25. That is a great Christmas present! We will update you on this good news on Sunday, December 22.

Field Report:
Summit at Snoqualmie. "I skied Summit West. Overall, very good day. Several inches of new snow fell during the day. In addition to the new snow that has fallen over the past few days this made for great conditions. I never heard my skis scrape during the day.
But beware of holes, especially in the large swaths that the groomers hit infrequently or not at all. I saw one ski patroller extricating a kid from a hole and it took a while. Fortunately the kid did not look to be in distress. (Perhaps he was having fun, and after all, isn’t that one of the main reasons to ski?)
