Hello skiers and snowboarders,
Starting Friday a trough of low pressure (explainer link below) and associated cold front will move into the Cascades. Snow levels quickly fall during the day on Friday and continue to fall on Saturday. It will be windy Friday afternoon and evening so visibility will be an issue. Snow levels drop to close to 2500' by Saturday morning and continue to remain there over the weekend. The map below shows 8 to 10" cumulative snow for the period ending Saturday morning.
Then during the day on Saturday, we have cool air in place and a northwest wind that will set up a Puget Sound Convergence (explainer link below). This pattern favors snow for Stevens Pass to Snoqualmie and at times extends to Crystal Mt. More powder! During the day Saturday the Inland areas like 49 Degrees North and Silver Mountain should get 4 to 6" of snow. White Pass should also get some snow of 5 to 8".
On Sunday light snow should continue and favor Stevens to Snoqualmie Pass.
Friday to Saturday morning: 8 to 10"
Saturday mid-morning to evening: 4" to 6"
Sunday: 1 to 3"
Keep reading for the extended forecast.
