Hello skiers and snowboarders,
Happy New Year!! Normally, we send Thursdays and Sundays, however, we're sending this earlier since some folks have extended days off.
We are expecting a weak weather system to move in on Thursday with light snow. The map below is the total snowfall for the period ending 4 am on Friday. Crystal Mountain Resort is looking at 4" and perhaps more. White Pass should be getting up to 4". The rest of the Western Washington resorts are looking at close to 2". Snow levels should be close to 3,000' over this period.
Friday another weather system moves along with some increase in the snow levels. Mid to upper slopes will get 5-8" of snow for Western Washington resorts. Expect a rain/snow mix at times below 4,500'. Inland areas like 49 Degrees North and Silver Mountain will get 2-4" at all levels on Friday.
Saturday we will have a similar pattern to Friday with new snow of 6-8" for mid to upper slopes. So a rain/snow mix at times below 4,500'.
Sunday an area of low pressure will move in from the south during the day. Additional snowfall for the mid to upper slopes is expected. Once again, a pattern similar to what we had the prior days. Expect 4-7" at mid to the upper slopes with a rain/snow mix at times below 4,500'. We are also expecting an increase in winds so breezy at times.
Thursday: 1 to 4 inches
Friday: 5 to 8 inches
Saturday: 6 to 8 inches
Sunday: 4 to 7 inches
