Dry week ahead but snow is coming end of the week.

Hello skiers and snowboarders,

Over this weekend many (most) of our ski resorts have received at least 10" of snow and that includes the Inland areas like 49 Degrees North and Silver Mountain. You can see from the map below our current snowpack ranges from 88% of normal for the Central Puget Sound (Stevens and Snoqualmie Pass) to 106% in the South Puget Sound (Crystal Mountain) and 135% for the Lower Pend Oreille (49 Degrees North and Silver Mt.).

How is the snow on the ground this year vs. last year? This year Snoqualmie Pass has 60" on the ground vs. 45" last year. White Pass 60" now vs. 28" last year. Nice improvement!

We have a ridge of high pressure in place for Monday through most of Tuesday, so we expect mostly dry conditions. However, there is a chance of light snow late Tuesday and Wednesday morning for the mid and upper slopes. The best chances of snow are for Stevens Pass and to the north.

For Thursday we should continue with the dry pattern, except Mt. Baker gets a trace late in the day. Look at the extended outlook in the next section for the next snow.

  • Monday: 0" of snow. Some sun breaks especially mid to upper slopes.

  • Tuesday: Trace of snow late.

  • Wednesday: 1 to 2" of snow.

  • Thursday: 0" of snow
