Hello:
skiers, snowboarders, snowmobilers, snowflake enthusiasts:

There is snow in the forecast, but well have to wait until later in the weekend to see the snowfall return to the Cascades.

High pressure will continue to block storms from entering the Pacific Northwest through the week. We will see lots of sunshine this week and some areas of morning fog. The weather will be a bit chilly, but that is good for snowmaking in the Cascades and BC. A weak low to our south will spin some precipitation into California and Arizona later on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, but we will remain dry.

The good news is the high pressure producing the dry pattern breaks down by the weekend. Computer weather models show a front approaching on Saturday, and then spreading modest snowfall on Sunday and next
Monday (Dec 10).

There is some uncertainty with this pattern. However, I believe the snowfall pattern will kick in as promised by the computer models. The reason for my confindence is there has been consistency in the pattern showing up on the updated model runs. The question is; will the snowfall pattern continue and how long, with how much snow? Present indications are the pattern will maintain a series of storms next week. Its too early to commit to that or how much snow, but I remain optimistic.
