Hello Skiers:

It feels like winter is coming at us, fast.

Unsettled weather will continue the next few days with a series of storms delivering the goods. Snow levels will be moderate 4,000 5,000 ft. That means snow for some of the mid-elevation slopes and all of the upper slopes.

Snow accumulation will be 2-7 on the mid slopes and 10- 18 on the upper slopes through Saturday. Sunday and Monday will see the snow level creep upward. Some, not all, of this new snowfall will stick around and start to create a minor base mainly for the upper elevations.

For the middle and end of next week, we will see a drying trend. After that, the weather will become more active for late October into November.

A salute to new Powder Alert sponsors:

The Kingdom of the Grand Poobah of Powder would like to welcome back K2 to the Powder Alert sponsorship. K2 started right here in Washington (Vashon Island) and has been a wonderful supporter.

Also, a new sponsorship to the Powder Kingdom is Zeeks Pizza. Tom and Doug, the co-founders, and are avid powder lovers like you. Nothing says pizza like Zeeks with fresh ingredients and many Puget Sound locations. Zeeks always hits the spot after a day of skiing.

Your Grand Poobah is eternally grateful for the support.
