Hello skiers,

Expect more snow by Friday morning, but not too much maybe 1-4. The snow level will be 3,500 ft (lower slopes), so snow quality is pretty good on Friday. Saturday will be dry, with partly sunny weather, rip a groomer. Be cautious off-piste, with variable snow quality and early season thin spots.

Sunday expect increasing snow and a snow level of 3,000ft. Monday the snow continues off and on. I like Monday, with the new snow. Beware Tuesday the snow level could jump to 5,000ft for 12 -18 hours, for sticky snow. The SL drops on Wednesday to 2,500 ft for better quality snow. Snowfall between Monday and Wednesday (48hrs) may be 10-20 or more. Plenty of new snow will be seen I like Wednesday.

The La Nina active snow pattern will continue after with snow off and on. The last two seasons have had terribly poor season tarts with little snowfall until mid-December. This year is looking really good. And La Nina typically doesnt kick in until late December and January. But always get the snow when the getting is good cause mother nature can throw us a curveball at any time.

Who is open?

Mt Baker opens (passholders only) Friday and Saturday with 81 in the last seven days. Crystal Mountain is open as yesterday, top to bottom. With additional snow in the forecast (mainly late weekend and next week), more areas will be opening, so check ski area websites especially toward Thanksgiving. Obviously, its early season and with Covid there will be reservations and restrictions. Also, remember early season conditions exist with thin spots. But its all good, weve had many feet of snow. It ski time - lets have fun again.
