Sad to say, but dont expect much snowfall for the next week.

A weakening weather system will move in on Friday, but only with limited snowfall in the mountains. Total snowfall will be minor (1-4 SL 5,500 ft). Also, the snow pattern will not be widespread and will mainly favor the North Cascades and Whistler, as the storm hits mainly north, then falls apart.

Higher pressure will build in on Saturday until late next Tuesday, which means a dry pattern and no snowfall.

There is no significant snowfall in the forecast for at least seven days. We may get another round of light snow next Tuesday/Wednesday, but nothing to get excited about at this point.

One positive note is that usually by mid November the weather pattern for Cascade snowfall becomes more active, with more storminess. Its just too early to tell if the storminess in the second half of November will be hero or zero. Typically late November is very active. We need 3-5 feet to open, and we are starting from scratch, except for some areas with snowmaking. We can get several feet in a couple of good storms in less than a week but so far, the forecast maps are not showing anything significant for the next week.

Currently there is a little snow on the some of the upper slopes; otherwise snowpack is patchy or non-existent on the ski slopes of the Pacific NW. Usually the second half of November bails us out with several big snowfalls, but there are no guarantees. The models do point to a more active pattern in the second half of November, but it is really too early to give that idea much credibility. I will have more confidence in the forecast for the second half of November, in another week.
