Hello skiers,

I have high confidence a dry and chilly weather pattern will be seen most of this week. The reason for my confidence is all weather models have been consistent for many days showing this pattern. Plus, the dry trend has already begun. High pressure will block storms and produce the mostly clear skies for the week. Expect sunshine, but temperatures will stay cold for snowmaking in the mountains.

In about a week (Sunday Nov 20) the high will break down and we will see a little new snow. The days leading up to Thanksgiving will see more storms, as the snow starts to pile up once again. This forecast is far off right now, but I think that an active weather pattern will happen just before, during and after Thanksgiving. My hesitation is we could start to see some occasional rising snow levels. Its really too early to see the details of how the pattern will evolve. But the good news we are not stuck too long with the blocking high we will see this week.

The 2022-23 ski season opens at Baker (Thu/Fri) and Crystal (Fri). Check ski area websites for days open, hours, lifts, terrain, ticket pass restrictions, etc.
