Hello Powder Alert Fans,

  • Thursday: 2 to 4" with snow levels at 4000 to 4500'
  • Friday: 2 to 4" with snow levels at 4000 to 4500'
  • Saturday: 2 to 4" with snow levels at 4000 to 4500'
  • Sunday: 1" with snow levels at 3000 to 3500'

Short Term Discussion:

Hello skiers and snowboarders,

The high-pressure ridge that has been bringing sunny and mild conditions will leave the region starting today. With this pattern change we can expect lighter snow (see map) on Thursday with the best chances of snow for mid to upper slopes. This same pattern can be expected for Friday and Saturday. There will be 2 to 4" daily snowfall, mainly for the mid to upper slopes.

Sunday, we will enjoy lower snow levels as cooler air moves in, although we expect lighter snowfall. If you are looking for powder, please check out our extended outlook. You will be very happy!

Extended Outlook:

Looking ahead to Monday, March 25, snow levels are set to dip to 2000 to 3000'. The forecast indicates significant powder, ranging from 8 to 10 inches for West Cascades resorts like Mt. Baker, Stevens Pass, Snoqualmie Pass, and Crystal Mountain. Inland areas such as 49 Degrees North and Silver Mountain will also receive around 4 inches of fresh powder.

Excitingly, more powder is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday, with snowfall at 2000 to 3000'. Most forecast models align on a continuation of the cool and wet pattern from March 25th to 29th (see maps), ensuring ongoing additions to our snowpack this spring.

Next update Sunday, March 24.
