Powder Days are here

Hello Skiers:

Special: One week Powder Alert!

This is as good as it gets for March or any ski month.

1-2ft in next 24 hrs - then 2-4 ft in the next week. High quality and quantity of snow. Snow levels low at 1000-2000ft, but bounce up occasionally to near 3000ft later Thursday and Friday. This is the week you want ditch work all week and ski. I already nailed Monday See below -- and that was partial leftovers - fantastico. Wednesday will be much better. Convergence zone snowfall enhancement for Stevens tonight could produce rare almost overhead, face shot, snorkel deep powder. All ski areas will have very deep snow, ski with a buddy! Obey all ski patrol closures, rope lines. With the low snow levels, The Summit will be outstanding on Wednesday too.

This excellent snow cycle, now in progress, is caused by a series of storms producing cold and snowy weather for the NW. This pattern really favors the WA and OR Cascades. Whistler will not be denied, with slightly lower snow levels ( even drier snow) , but less overall snowfall than the Cascades. Expect new snow every day through the weekend. It's difficult to time the optimum, because timing occasionally shifts, but every day has primo powder potential. Even leftovers are of the highest quality. Note: cold smoke powder possible on higher slopes - complete blower, facilitated by the low snow levels.

Below: I found this powder line yesterday at Crystal...I am finally getting off the groomed, green runs and learning how to powder ski, it's really fun! BTW - It will be like this every day into the weekend with great new snow and high quality leftovers.

Announcements

Submitted for your consideration: I made it easy and did an overnighter at the Alpine Inn (Crystal Hotels), to be early on the slopes - not fighting the road conditions/parking or traffic. Plus, great food and Elysian beer at the Elk. I am currently into The Immortal IPA - try it.

Moose wandering at the base at Silver Mountain, Idaho on Monday. Caution: never try and pet a wild moose - no matter how awesome the video would look. Remember, everything seems like a good idea after a few drinks, but almost never is.
Silver will see 5-10" new falling on Wednesday, more to come. Fresh powder days all week.
