Short Term Discussion:

Hello skiers and snowboarders,

The high-pressure ridge that has been bringing sunny and mild conditions will leave the region starting today. With this pattern change we can expect lighter snow (see map) on Thursday with the best chances of snow for mid to upper slopes. This trend is expected to persist through Friday and Saturday, bringing daily accumulations of 2 to 4 inches, primarily for the mid to upper slopes.

Come Sunday, cooler air will usher in lower snow levels, although lighter snowfall is anticipated. If you're on the hunt for powder, keep an eye out for our extended outlook!

Extended Outlook:

Monday, March 25, snow levels will sink to 2000 to 3000'. The first map shows powder in the range of 8 to 10" for much of West Cascades resorts, Mt Baker, Stevens Pass, Snoqualmie Pass, and Crystal Mountain. Our friends in the Inland areas of 49 Degrees North and Silver Mountain will also enjoy 4" of powder.

Excitingly, more powder is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday, with snowfall at 2000 to 3000'. Most forecast models align on a continuation of the cool and wet pattern from March 25th to 29th (see maps), ensuring ongoing additions to our snowpack this spring.

Next update Sunday, March 24.
